Daily Blog Post for MyTendWell
Started the day the way I like to when at the lake house. Nice long Jacuzzi with the local paper, my books and devises….Had a green tea with dandelion root too. Made frappes for us this morning and followed that up with Gretchen’s eggs and King oyster mushrooms for a mid-morning breakfast with ½ sprouted grain English muffin. Did a lake walk with ML.  I think she moves faster when it is cold out. Was sad to see a neighborhood tree was twisted and blown down. A fine old cedar. It had an amazing bright red heart and smelled fantastic. The tree people came and took it away. Would have been nice to cut it into cedar planks for cooking… Mom had computer and phone issues today. Almost blew my head off trying to help her. One of the people calling to help was a scammer. Figured that out and hung up on them. Scheduled her tech person to come out and get her straightened out. Our friend Carl has been having a tough time this winter. He went in for a second pacemaker surgery. All seemed to go well. I knew we were going to be having a holiday meal with our artist friend Gretchen, she really knows how to put out a spread so I kept things simple and light for lunch. tover turkey stir fry with Asian veggies, onions, butternut julienne, and sesame oil, soy sauce. Dinner was a calorie blow out, but was all “real food” with Blood sausage, head cheese, Smoking Goose Gin and Juice sausage, cheeses, homemade breads, nuts, crudite, etc. Main course was sauerkraut soup with potatoes and pork ribs. No dessert needed!!!!! But we did have one of the cardamom nougat candies that Asser brought back from Egypt for Mom’s Xmas present.  It was nice to catch up with her as well as Dave and Mary Beth Porter. She had fires going in the giant stone fireplace as well as the wood stove in the kitchen. It couldn’t have been more pleasant. She sent us home with homemade almond butter, her famous German caraway Christmas cookies and homemade bread. Mom scored some nice chocolates. I drank mango/habanero kambucha and Black tea Kambucha and controlled myself as much as possible. Great fun. Got home and watched an episode of “The Crown” on Netflix.
